about

1836 AD - During an expedition into the ancient Kai cave system in southeast Pakistan, William F. Coppersmith, Peter Copeland, and Daniel Moraine make first known contact with the people of the underground city of Aum.

In later recounting his short time spent there, William had this to say of his experience: "The people of Aum are of a strange sort, they communicate with one another solely through song - if you can call it that - and seem to almost exclusively prefer to focus on their work and duties while allotting little to no time for other pleasures or hobbies. This work of theirs, interestingly enough, is seemingly also accomplished with song. With great boom of voice and lilt of tone, having somehow mastered the natural resonance of their cavernous home, they are able to move massive mounds of earth, close and open stone gates, and even redirect the flow of their underground river as they see fit. The structure of their city gives the impression of something akin to an almost temple-like labyrinth, a true marvel of stonework; the main chamber is dotted throughout with massive hollow tubes carved out of the natural rock surfaces which are presumably intended to be sung into with the goal of augmenting and enhancing the effects of the already impressive resonance."

Headphones are recommended - maximum volume yields maximum results.
Experience will be intensified by abuse of consciousness-enhancing substances in an isolated and pitch black environment.
